Is Morocco Open for Tourists?

Entry Restrictions

International flights to and from Morocco have resumed. All travellers coming from all countries are required to adhere to the following rules:

  • Provide proof of receipt of the full vaccine doses (Covid-19 vaccine passport) in addition to a negative PCR test result, provided that the result is issued 48 hours before departure.
  • They must fill out and submit a health form before boarding the plane.
  • Upon arrival at the airport, some travelers may be randomly selected to undergo a rapid antigen test.

Children under 6 years old are exempted from all requirements However, those between the ages of 6 and 18 must comply with the pre-travel and on-arrival screening requirements.

Earlier, a traveller was considered “immune” if he received the second dose of the approved vaccine at least two weeks before entry, but it is currently unclear whether this decision is still in effect.

Quarantine upon Arrival

  • Persons who show moderate or severe symptoms are sent to a public or private hospital to receive the necessary treatment in accordance with the approved national protocol.

Most establishments are allowed to operate with a limited capacity, with the need to adhere to safety procedures and health protocols.

  • Restaurants, cafes, shops, shopping malls, gyms, museums, cinemas, theaters, cultural centers, libraries, and public swimming pools are allowed to operate at a capacity of 50%.
  • Hotels and tourist establishments are allowed to operate with a capacity of 75%.
  • Public transport operates with a capacity of 75%.

The indoor swimming pools are still closed.

Indoor and outdoor gatherings and activities are now allowed for a maximum of 50 people.

Entry to public places, hotels, restaurants, cafes, cinemas, shops and other establishments is only permitted to individuals who provide proof of receiving full vaccine doses: a “vaccine passport”.

Individuals are required to show a valid vaccination passport to travel locally and use public and private transportation as well.

Individuals who are not eligible to receive the vaccination are exempted, however, they must provide evidence of this.

Wearing a face mask is mandatory in public places.

Cultural events and festivals are prohibited from being displayed.

The state of emergency has been extended across the country until March 31.
